Clarendale of St. Peters Steps Up to Help the Alzheimer’s Association

A half dozen of Clarendale of St. Peters dedicated employees poured their heart and soul into volunteer work for the Alzheimer’s Association 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s this year. We were a Gold Sponsor for the event on September 25 in St. Charles, Missouri, underwriting the Memory Wall.

“It’s our third year participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and we’re so proud of our exceptional team,” says Executive Director Mark Golliday. “Our management company, Life Care Services, is a national sponsor. And since the fight to find a cure to end Alzheimer’s is a mission near and dear to our hearts, too, we wanted to do our part and contribute locally—to multiply the contribution.”

In addition to donations of their valuable time, our Clarendale team found creative ways to raise funds. Three clever initiatives were at the center of it all.

Fashionable Fundraising. Since practically every woman could use another great handbag, the volunteers raffled off a designer purse, generating $470.

Proud in Purple. Think of it as keeping it casual for a good cause. Staff members donated $1 each Wednesday simply for the opportunity to “dress down” in a brand-appropriate, Alzheimer’s Association purple-colored shirt—netting $168.

Online Outreach. Thanks to online donations from family and friends on the Clarendale of St. Peters 2021 Alzheimer’s Walk team page, an additional $875has been donated to date.

According to Golliday, “At $1,513 raised so far, we’re well on the way to reaching a goal of $2,000 this year for the Alzheimer’s Association. But we’re not done yet! And our friends and neighbors can help.”

Anyone interested in contributing to the Alzheimer’s Association may still contribute. The charity is accepting donations via our Clarendale of St. Peters team page through December 31, 2021.
